Gustave “Gus” William Kleber, 80, of Valencia, formerly of Shaler Township, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Dec. 22, 2021.

Born on June 30, 1941, Gus and his wife purchased property in Valencia where they started G.W. Kleber & Sons Nursery in 1988, with their sons.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 26 years, Barbara Ann Lekse Kleber.He is survived by his two sons, David (Vicki) Kleber and Gregory (Laura) Kleber; his three grandchildren, Julia, Gregory and Daniel; his sister, Marian Kress of Roseville, Calif.; his brother, Robert Kleber of Shaler Township; and several nieces and nephews.Gus served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard.While he enjoyed hunting, it was fishing that brought him the most joy. He spent the majority of his summers on Lake Erie with his sons and grandkids, and a loyal crew of fellow fishermen.Gus, a true “workaholic,” continued to work on the nursery grounds regularly, even up until the day before he passed. He still rode his bike leisurely along Lake Erie in the summertime, and even enjoyed water tubing as recently as this past summer 2021.Gustave was a member of Holy Sepulcher Parish.KLEBER — Friends of Gustave “Gus” William Kleber, who died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E.
