Connor Thomas scored on Sheldon Hile’s fielder’s choice in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Butler City a 5-4 win over Meridian in Butler County legion baseball play Saturday at Highfield Park.

Thomas led off the inning with a walk, stole second and was advanced to third base before Hile’s ground ball.

Butler City took a 4-1 lead into the seventh frame before Meridian plated three runs to tie the game.

Shae Stobert got the win, striking out six and walking just one in a complete game.

Jacob McCandless singled and doubled for Meridian.
