Cranberry nips Mars II in Game 1
CRANBERRY TWP — Dave Coradi’s two-run single capped a four-run fifth inning for Cranberry, which rallied for a 4-3 victory over Mars II in Game 1 of their Eagle County baseball semifinal series Monday night at North Boundary Park.
Cranberry (23-3-1) trailed 3-0 going into that fifth inning.
Singles by Bill Clinefelter, T.J. Kuny and Brandon Pouch loaded the bases before Reed Tomlinson drilled a two-run double. Coradi followed with what proved to be the game-winning hit.
Dave Cricks was the winning pitcher, going the distance and striking out four.
Eric Steininger had a pair of singles for Mars II.
Game 2 of the best-of-five series will be played at 6 p.m. today at Mars Boro Field.
