Drug suspect shows up at state police barracks

It was an arrest that had state police scratching their heads.

The day after troopers seized his car following a traffic stop in Butler, Darnell L. Glenn Jr., 30, of Pittsburgh showed up Wednesday at the barracks in Butler Township to claim the vehicle.

He was promptly placed in handcuffs.

Little did he know, police had just finished typing up charges against him, having searched the car and finding more than 300 stamp bags of suspected heroin and a loaded pistol in the trunk.

But that wasn't all, police said.

The woman who accompanied him was caught with syringes and other drug contraband. She, too, is facing charges.

“It surprised all of us, what happened,” admitted police Cpl. Jacob Jesse.

Glenn is being held in the Butler County Prison on $150,000 bail. He is charged with felony drug possession.

A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
