The driver of the overturned car at right was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Butler Ambulance Service with unspecified injuries Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, after she apparently fell asleep at the wheel on Route 8 north and hit an embankment at about 3:30 p.m. Bystanders said the driver was a woman, but her identity wasn’t reported. She was trapped inside the Ford Taurus for more than 20 minutes as firefighters and EMS responders worked to remove the driver’s side door.
