Mars school bus involved in crash

Police investigate a crash involving a school bus Wednesday morning in Mars.
No injuries, minor damage reported

MARS — No injuries were reported following a minor accident involving a Mars School District bus Wednesday morning.

The accident was reported just before 8 a.m. at Pittsburgh Street and Crowe Avenue in the borough. The accident involved the bus and a passenger vehicle.

Students on the bus were being transported to the elementary school, and state police officials said 21 passengers were on board.

According to Superintendent Wesley Shipley, emergency medical technicians evaluated all of the students and no injuries were reported.

Both he and Todd Lape, school principal, were on the scene to help students onto another school bus, and the students were taken to school within an hour of the accident.

State police officials confirmed no injuries were reported and said the vehicles sustained minor damage. The investigation was ongoing Wednesday afternoon.

Crews from the Adams Area Fire District as well as Adams Township police were on the scene to close the road to traffic.
