Red Barn takes a look at 'Drinking Habits'
Accusations, mistaken identities and romances run wild in the Red Barn Players’ season-closing show, “Drinking Habits,” opening Sept. 14.
The show, written by Tom Smith and directed by Dee Eppihimer of Chippewa Township and Mary Jane Tillia of Ellwood City, runs for eight performances, Sept. 14-15, 20-22 and 27-29.
This farce features two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing who have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open.
Two reporters, Paul and Sally, who just happen to be former fiancées, are hot on their trail and go undercover as a nun and priest. Their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.
Cast members of “Drinking Habits” include: Amanda Martin of Cranberry Township; Susan Brown, Tammy Erkman and Patrick Erkman, all of Ellwood City; Lauranne Ferrara and Paul Angelucci, both of New Castle; and Marissa Stonefield of Chippewa Township and John Locke of North Sewickley Township, both Beaver County.
Curtain time for all shows is 8 p.m.
The Red Barn Theatre is at 1279 Route 288 in Franklin Township, Beaver County.
