Two-vehicle wreck on Bonniebrook sends one to hospital

One driver was sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Bonniebrook and Jones Road.

JEFFERSON TWP — One driver was sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Bonniebrook and Jones Road.

The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday when a blue Fiat convertible and a green Chevy sedan collided at 137 Bonniebrook Road.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage.

According firefighters from the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, the driver of the Fiat, who is from Ford City, was taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries.

Traffic on the road was cut down to a single lane after the accident for around 45 minutes, according to firefighters, while authorities waited for the vehicles to be removed.

The cause of the accident was not available at the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police were also on the scene, and other information was immediately available.
