A Slippery Rock man found dead Tuesday at the Campus Edge Apartments has been identified.

Slippery Rock Borough Police Chief Terry Fedokovitz identified the man as Mark Christie, 54, a resident of the apartments. Police initially reported that the man was 40 years old.

Fedokovitz said the death continues to be considered natural and due to health-related causes. He said there will not be an autopsy.

Christie's remains were discovered after a tenant at the complex reported a smell and maintenance workers entered his apartment to perform a welfare check. He was found in his living room.

Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr said Christie was last seen Aug. 30.
