Elvera Wahl

Elvera Boyd Wahl, 95, of Evans City, passed peacefully Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Vera proudly served during World War II at the Dravo Corp. Neville Island Shipyard in Pittsburgh as part of the Landing Ship, Tank (LST) wartime effort. She loved to travel, to garden her flowers, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was also a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Beloved daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Phillips; loving wife of the late Martin H. Wahl; dear sister of the late Andrew M. Phillips; mother of William (Linda Cypher) Wahl of Evans City, Andrew (Lisa) Wahl of Pittsburgh, and Joyce (Dale) Beighey of Fombell; and grandmother of four, Colby Beighey, Tristan Beighey, Sierra Beighey and Hannah Wahl.

Wahl — Services for Elvera Boyd Wahl, who died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, will be held privately by the family.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023, or to The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center, 5324 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
