Cody Johnston

Cody Johnston

Cody Johnston, 24, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, with his family by his side after a 7-year-long battle with cancer.

He was born on June 9, 1996, and was the son of Heather Rhodes and the late Bryan Blackburn.

Cody was a volunteer firefighter, and most recently worked for Adler and Sons tree service for numerous years. He was an invaluable asset to every job he ever had, as he was an extremely diligent and hard worker. He was widely known for his unending work ethic.

He loved anything with a motor, especially motorcycles, big trucks and fast cars. He built, collected, and owned classic John Deer farm tractors. He had a “larger than life” personality, fun loving attitude and “fairness to all” disposition, and an uncompromising gift of charisma. Above all else, Cody will be remembered for his gift at being a father, as his children were his purpose.

He was the beloved husband of Sarah Johnston; father of Charles and Everleigh Johnston; brother of Gabriella Johnston; grandson of Alan (Linda) Rhodes and Keith (Donna) Blackburn; and the nephew of Shannon (Jeffrey) Proco, Amy (Sean Green) Blackburn and Doreen Blackburn.

He also leaves behind numerous cousins, and a large and loving family.
