Motorists will notice single-lane traffic starting Friday on Route 356 in Southeastern Butler County.

The state Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that milling work will occur in the northbound lane from the area of Bernie’s Mobile Home Park in Winfield Township to Caldwell Drive in Jefferson Township.

Milling in the southbound lane will begin near Bernie’s Mobile Home Court and continue to the intersection at Coal Hollow Road in Buffalo Township.

The southbound section to be milled is about two miles, and the northbound about six miles.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane controlled by flaggers.

Delays are expected between Sarver and Butler during the work.

PennDOT asks that motorists take alternate routes if possible.

The milling project is expected to be complete on Saturday.
