Delbert Hockenberry
Delbert “Dale” Hockenberry, 63, of Butler, formerly of Rimersburg, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 29, 1958, and was the son of the late Delbert and Patricia Brown.
He was a truck driver for various trucking companies in Butler County. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1976 to 1979. He graduated from Big Ben Community College in Bremerhaven, Germany.
He was a member of New Beginnings Free Methodist Church in Butler. He was a member of the Butler American Legion Post 778.
He liked fishing, hunting, gardening, trucking, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Delbert is survived by his loving companion, Nancy Guidotti; three sons, Michael (Bry) Hockenberry, Tim (Cara) Hockenberry and Brett (Becky) Hockenberry; three stepchildren, Jim (Julie) Fitzpatrick, Shannon (Mike) Guidotti and Heather (Torre) Moore; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; the mother of his sons, Pam Foreman; and his siblings, Don and Chuck Hockenberry, Ted and Jeff Brown, Marsha Straight, and Maria Czulewicz.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
HOCKENBERRY — Friends of Delbert “Dale” Hockenberry, who died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Steighner Funeral Home, 111 E. Slippery Rock Street, Chicora.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Perkins, pastor of New Beginnings Free Methodist Church.
Interment will be in Rimer Hill Cemetery, Templeton.
Full military honors will be conducted by the Chicora and East Brady American Legion at the Funeral Home.
