Cranberry 55+ club celebrates 50th at picnic

Cranberry Township officials joined more than 80 members of the Cranberry Township 55+ Club to celebrate its 50th anniversary in Community Park recently. Formed in 1970 by Hazel Gant, the goal was to help members of the community meet new neighbors and form friendships. It has blossomed into a group of more than 100 members. Bill Shaner, the club's president, welcomed members and guests to this special celebration at the annual picnic. The club meets at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month in Council Chambers, 2525 Rochester Road. Membership is limited to Cranberry Township residents age 55 and older.
