Master Sgt.
Holly Lynn Payne, daughter of Frederick and Mary Ann Lehner of Petrolia, retired Feb. 1 from 20 years of active duty in the Air Force.After basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, she became an operations resource management journeyman, and scheduled aircraft support worldwide for senior military and civilian officials.During her career, she was assigned to Eglin AFB, Florida, for four years; Osan AFB, Korea, for 18 months; and Andrews AFB, Maryland, for four years.Her last assignment was at the Pentagon, where she remained until retiring. While there, she was superintendent of special air missions and coordinated logistical and operational support for senior military and civilian officials. She also acted as Air Force assistant vice chief of staff liaison with the White House Military Office and Transportation Command.She was named number one out of 500 military airlift validators in the Air Force for her attention to detail and superb customer support. Her awards include two meritorious service medals, three commendation medals and two achievement medals. She also was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit award, Organizational Excellence Award, the Combat Readiness and the National Defense Service Medal.She resides in Bowie, Md., with her husband, Doug, and two children.---Air Force Airman
Anthony Green has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.He is the son of Linus Green of Butler and a 2004 graduate of Butler High School.
