Air Force Staff Sgt.

Nathan Laidlaw, son of Joe and Virginia Laidlaw of Butler, is assigned to the 7th Air Force, the most forward-deployed Air Force unit within South Korea and less than 50 miles from the Demilitarized Zone that separates it from North Korea.Laidlaw is a pavement and equipment specialist assigned to the 554th Red Horse Squadron at Osan Air Base, South Korea.The 1999 graduate of Butler High School keeps track of expensive water well drilling equipment, and trains personnel on water drilling operations.

Jason Troup, son of Kevin Troup and Deborah Altman of Butler, entered the delayed entry program for the Air Force on May 11, 2004.Troup, a 2004 graduate of Knoch High School, shipped to basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, on July 19, 2005.Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class

Rebecca Harsh has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.She is the daughter of Robert and Geraldine Harsh of Cranberry Township.Harsh graduated in 1999 from Seneca Valley Senior High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2003 from California (Pa.) University.
