Michele Ann Zinn

Michele Ann Zinn, 83, of Bokeelia, Fla., passed away on Dec. 14, 2021.

She was born April 23, 1938, in Mercer, and was the daughter of the late Carl Gallagher and the late Ruth Marsh Gallagher.

Michele graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1956, then went to Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. She then went on to Slippery Rock University to receive a master's degree in teaching.

She taught home economics at Slippery Rock School District, and Butler Area School District at the junior high.

Michele enjoyed sewing, quilting, and scrapbooking. She was skilled in navigation and co-owned Jericho Bay Sight Seeing Service in Maine, and was a captain. Michele traveled extensively on the Great Loop, and also from Canada to Florida on the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. She was very knowledgeable of the history of the areas traveled.

She was a member St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Maine, and attended Fishers of Men Lutheran Church in Pine Island, Fla.

Michele is survived by her husband, Dave E. Zinn, whom she married Aug. 2, 1961; two sons, Shane (Denise) Zinn of Prospect, and Brett Zinn of Butler; and two grandchildren, Chase Zinn and Cole (Michenzie) Zinn.

ZINN — Friends of Michele Ann Zinn, who died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

The funeral service will immediately follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Joel Benson officiating.

Entombment will take place at the Chapel of All Faiths Mausoleum at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; Butler Meals on Wheels, 218 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001; St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 175 Downeast Highway, Ellsworth, Maine 04605; or Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
