Meet the team at Moniteau tonightCHERRY TWP — Moniteau High School boys and girls basketball will host its Meet the Team festivities at 6 p.m. today in the high school gym.The event features introduction of the school district's elementary travel teams, junior high, junior varsity and varsity squads. The school's previous 1,000-point scorers, section and district championship teams will be introduced as well.An alumni game will conclude the evening at approximately 7 p.m. Admission fee is $2.

Mars grad Castello gets PSAC honorSHIPPENSBURG — Mars graduate John Castello, a forward on the Shippensburg University men's basketball team, has been named PSAC East Freshman Player of the Week.Castello scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 68-48 win over Slippery Rock, then scored 17 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had three assists in a win over Edinboro.

Raiders fall late to Central CatholicChristopher Lipnicky scored the only goal for Seneca Valley as the Raiders' hockey team fell 3-1 to Central Catholic Tuesday night.All three Viking goals were scored in the third period.Lipnicky's goal came after Central (7-2-1) had already taken a 3-0 lead.Seneca Valley (5-2) ou-shot Central Catholic 32-26 in the loss.
