Man pleads guilty to drug possession
A 48-year-old Center Township man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Butler court to possessing 100 stamp bags filled with a mixture of heroin and fentanyl for the purpose of selling it.
Judge Timothy McCune sentenced Richard Pas kosky to one to two years in state prison for the crime, which was committed last April. At the time, Paskosky was on probation for a previous case. Probation officers made a home visit and found the drugs in a living room drawer, a frequent hiding spot for Paskosky.
Paskosky's lawyer, Charles Nedz, asked McCune to add a drug treatment component to Paskosky's sentence.
“Mr. Paskosky is an addict, he's a fentanyl user,” Nedz said. “He's not a guy who's profiting from selling. It looks to me like he's selling to use. He needs treatment.”
Paskosky has been an inmate at Butler County Prison since his probation violation. Along with his prison sentence, Paskosky must pay a $100 fine and he has received credit for time served. His sentence runs concurrent with his previous conviction.
