A Canadian TV station removed Donald Trump’s scene in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” from its holiday broadcasts of the movie, media outlets report.

But is it actually a politically motivated jab at the president?

Canadian Broadcasting Corp., or CBC, removed the short scene with Trump and Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, in the 1992 film, CBS reports. In the scene, Trump helps direct the young boy to the lobby in the Plaza Hotel.

Trump supporters quickly criticized the edit, calling it “pathetic,” and the president’s son Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a story from conservative website BizPac Review about the missing cameo of his dad.

The hosts of “Fox & Friends” a program Trump frequently praises, panned the decision as a case of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and “censorship,” Comicbook.com reported.

But CBC says there’s nothing political about cutting the scene, the media news website reported.

“As is often the case with features adapted for television, ‘Home Alone 2’ was edited to allow for commercial time within the format,” the broadcaster told Comicbook.com.

In a story posted on CBC News, the broadcast channel said it also removed the scene in 2014 — two years before Trump was elected.

“The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot,” a spokesman said.
