Below is a list of events going on around the county in honor of Veterans Day.

- 9 a.m., Veterans Day program at the VA Butler Healthcare atrium. The public is invited.

- 10:30 a.m., Butler Veterans Day Parade on Main Street.

- 11 a.m. to close, free buffet for all veterans and active-duty military personnel, Ponderosa Steakhouse, 128 Clearview Circle.

- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., free lunch for veterans and active-duty military personnel with military ID card, Texas Roadhouse in the Clearview Mall.

- 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., free lunch for all veterans and active-military personnel, VFW Post 7505, 331 Mars Valencia Road, Mars.

- 12:30 p.m., lunch open to members and active military personnel only, American Legion Post 117, 413 S. Main St.

- 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., public lunch, American Legion Post 778, 150 Legion Memorial Lane.

- Noon Nov. 16, Butler County Veteran of the Year luncheon, hosted by American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora. The veteran honored is Al Worsley, who served in the Air Force from May 1968 to June 1972. Tickets available by calling 724-284-5352 or stopping at the Butler County Veterans Services office in the County Government Center.
