CRANBERRY TWP — Three people face charges after a pair of connected incidents at a township store.

Kenisha Spaulding, 35, of Jamaica, faces two separate sets of charges for incidents on June 19 and June 23.

According to court documents, Cranberry police were called to Wal-Mart on June 23 for a retail theft in progress. Documents indicate a male and female, identified as Spaulding and Chanell Malcolm, 29, of Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, went to a self checkout kiosk after selecting a variety of clothes.

Documents state Spaulding scanned several items but failed to scan “a majority of the items in the cart” before attempting to leave the store. The pair willingly returned to the store and spoke to officers after being confronted. The items were valued at $891.59.

While investigating, loss prevention associates told police Spaulding and another female, identified as Rusheen Hamilton, 28, of Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, had allegedly stolen several items from the store on June 19. Associates said at about 6 p.m. on that date, Spaulding and Hamilton pushed a cart out of the store containing stolen merchandise. A review of surveillance tapes allegedly shows the pair at a self checkout kiosk scanning some items, but leaving with many more unscanned. The unscanned items were allegedly worth $579.41.

Spaulding faces two misdemeanor counts of retail theft for the June 19 incident, and misdemeanor conspiracy to commit retail theft and retail theft charges for the June 26 incident. Court documents indicate she is in jail on $15,000 monetary bond.

Malcolm is charged with misdemeanor conspiracy to commit retail theft and retail theft and was also unable to post $15,000 monetary bond.

Hamilton faces one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit retail theft and is in jail on $15,000 monetary bond.

All three individuals are scheduled for preliminary hearings on July 6.
