9/11 remembered
A 20-foot-by-30-foot American flag hangs from the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department ladder truck in support of first responders and in remembrance of victims of 9/11.
The flag will remain on display at the fire station at Elm and New Castle streets until 8 p.m. today.
Today is the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
