GROVE CITY — Keystone Safari will receive the Business of the Year award at the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce’s 10th annual awards Monday evening at The Guthrie Theater.

Five awards will be presented at the event, which begins at 7 p.m. with the “red carpet” arrival of guests who will be photographed as they approach the theater, located at 232 S. Broad St. Following the Red Carpet Reception, guests will be seated in the auditorium for the 8 p.m. award presentation.

Other awards and recipients include:

- The Guthrie Theater will receive the Silver Spruce Award, which recognizes efforts to “spruce up” a business’ building. After Veritas Arts took ownership of the theater in 2019, it decided to restore it. Spencer Folmar and Bill Grigsby have headed up the community fundraising campaign. Their work includes new seats, VIP seating in the balcony, a liquor license, a new stage and lighting and plans for live entertainment and film festivals.

- The Best Marketing Effort of the Year will be awarded to Bashlin Industries for its social media efforts and use of Instagram.

- Alyssa Messett, president of the Grove City Young Professionals, is selected for the Emerging Leader of the Year for her work with the group. Messett is also the new fitness director at Wise Strength and Fitness Center.

- Receiving the Business Leader of the Year will be Timothy Bonner. An attorney for many years in the community, he is recognized for his role as chairman of the Grove City Medical Center board of directors. In 2019, he played a key part in the merger of Grove City Medical Center with Allegheny Health Network to preserve community based-health care in Grove City.

- The Business of the Year award recipient, Keystone Safari, officially opened in 2019 and has made a large impact, the chamber news release said. The 143-acre interactive animal and adventure park, located at 2284 Mercer Butler Pike in Grove City, is credited for bringing visitors into the area.
