son of John and Elsie Crider of Zelienople was promoted to the rank of major in the Air Force.The 10-year Air Force veteran is a 1989 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and a 1993 alumnus of Westminster College.He is currently stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, where he lives with his wife, Jennifer and their two daughters.——Army Pvt.

John Schwab Jr., son of Karen Schwab of Butler and John J. Schwab Sr. of Evans City, and his fellow shipmates made a five-day port visit to Brisbane, Australia, while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, homeported in San Diego.Schwab, a 1989 graduate of Mars High School, joined the Navy in June 1990.——Army Pfc.
