John Schwab, Jr., son of Karen Schwab of Butler and John J. Schwab Sr. of Evans City, and fellow shipmates assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan made a port visit to Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates, while on a scheduled deployment as part of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 7.The visit gave Schwab's unit a chance to experience a different culture and strengthen the relationship between the United Arab Emirates and the coalition of maritime forces.Schwab is a 1989 graduate of Mars High School and joined the Navy in June 1990.———Navy Seaman Recruit

Joshua Watkins has returned to the United States after being deployed to an overseas forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.Watkins, an infantry team leader with seven years of military service, is the son of Thomas Watkins Jr. of Cranberry Township and Karen S. Charles Norris has returned to the United States after being deployed to an overseas forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.Norris is assigned to the 1st Battalion, 103rd Armor Battalion, Ford City; and he has served in the military for 10 years.He is the son of Charles and Norma Norris of Butler.His wife, Alicia, is the daughter of Linda Mohan of Butler.The sergeant is a 1985 graduate of Butler High School.
