Although the 2020 back-to-school season is a little different, Cranberry Township wants to make sure the thrill of heading back to the classroom remains intact.

Operation Lunch Pail Pals, sponsored by the Cranberry Township Community Response Team, will have a school supply giveaway from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Public Safety Training Center behind the township public works building.

For families needing assistance purchasing school supplies, a total of 100 complimentary filled lunch bags will be available for pickup.

The insulated lunch bags will be packed with school supplies.

Supplies depend on availability, but items could include pens, pencils, erasers, Post-it notes, highlighters, note cards, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, notepads and pencil cases.

All items are new and supplied through monetary donations received by the community response team. They will be distributed in a drive-up fashion by volunteers.
