Tornado standout Morton named Gatorade's Pa. Player of the Year
Eithan Morton goes for a layup during Butler's state playoff game against Upper St. Clair at Robert Morris University on March 11, 2020.
While Butler High School basketball’s postseason may be in limbo with the coronavirus outbreak, the accolades keep coming for standout guard Ethan Morton.
On Thursday, the 6-foot-6 senior was awarded the Gatorade Pennsylvania Boys Basketball Player of the Year honors.
In addition to athletic excellence on the court, the award — now in its 35th year — acknowledges athletes for academic achievements and exemplary character.
Morton is now eligible for national honors, which have been temporarily postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
