Child reportedly falls from window
A 2-year-old child was taken to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh after falling out of a second-story window on West Jefferson Street on Tuesday morning.
Butler Police Lt. Chad Rensel said the child’s parent refused to seek treatment for the child until the matter was reported to police shortly after noon Tuesday. The child reportedly fell out a window of the home at 518 W. Jefferson St. in the early morning hours of Tuesday.
“It was reported that a 2-year-old child fell out of a second-story window,” Rensel said. “We arrived and were able to corroborate that info. It appears the child fell a couple hours ago, if not overnight.”
Jaycen Barnhart, a man on the scene when authorities arrived Tuesday, said he received a text message about the fall and came over to see if the situation was under control. He said he spoke to police about the incident.
Additional details were not available Wednesday evening. A patrolman on duty at the police station said he was not authorized to release information.
