Additional charges filed against alleged drug dealer
CENTER TWP — An alleged dealer arrested last week on charges of trafficking cocaine and marijuana is now facing additional charges.
The latest case against Jackson R. Blakely, 21, of Butler stems from about one pound of suspected marijuana that turned up during a warrant search earlier this month at a house on Holyoke Road in Center Township.
District Judge Kevin O'Donnell arraigned Blakely Monday on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is being held in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.
The Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics filed the case.
Blakely was only released from the prison Friday after posting $25,000 bail in connection with his arrest April 10 by the Bureau of Narcotics.
That arrest culminated an investigation that targeted Blakely after an informant provided details about the defendant's alleged drug-dealing operation, authorities said.
The informant also allegedly claimed he had regularly purchased cocaine from Blakely at the defendant's former home on Holyoke Road in Center Township.
State agents conducted a pair of controlled drug buys earlier this month as part of the investigation. According to charging documents, the informant — at the direction of Blakely — contacted an associate of the defendant.
During the alleged deals, authorities said, the informant bought suspected cocaine and marijuana from the associate, who lives in Volant, Lawrence County.
Blakely is charged in the investigation with running a corrupt organization, criminal use of a communication facility and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — all felonies.
The attorney general's office's narcotics task force executed a search warrant April 10 at the Holyoke Road house, where officers said they found Blakely and Hannah M. Hawryliak, his girlfriend, authorities said.
The search allegedly turned up about one pound of marijuana as well as bags, vacuum sealers and scales. The items, documents said, were “indicative of (possessing) narcotics with the intent to sell.”
Hawryliak, 22, of Center Township is also charged in connection with the search. District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned her Tuesday on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
She was released on her own recognizance following arraignment.
Blakely's preliminary hearing in both cases is scheduled April 23 at Stoughton's office in Chicora. Hawryliak's preliminary will also be held that day.
Online court records did not indicate if either defendant has an attorney.
