Butler Twp. earns pair of BCABL victories
Butler Township recorded 13 hits Wednesday night at Pine Park as it defeated Pine-Richland, 10-1, in Butler County Area Baseball League action.
Kyle Weitzel had the big hit, a three-run home run.
The win improves Butler Township’s record to 5-0 on the season.
Colby Anderson, Josh Bonetti, Kevin King and Jake Slomers all saw time on the mound for Butler, striking out 12 batters total.
Anderson and John Piroch both recorded a pair of hits in the win.
In a game late Tuesday, a nine-run seventh-inning explosion helped Butler Township to a 10-2 win over East Butler.
Butler Township trailed 2-1 entering the top of the seventh before the rally.
Jake Slomers and Colby Anderson recorded two hits each for Butler.
Hunter Green went 2-for-4 for East Butler, including a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth.
Colin Gallagher pitched six innings for East Butler.
He struck out six and left with the lead.
