Robert Domanski
Robert Richard Domanski, 82, of Catonsville, Md., formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away at the Charlestown Continuing Care Dorsey Center, located on the campus of the Retirement Community on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at 1:55 p.m.
Bob was born on Jan. 27, 1939, in Mineola, Nassau County, N.Y., and was the son to Theodore Edward Domanski, Sr. and Sophia Maziarczyk Domanski. He married Betty Rose Lagasse on Dec. 26, 1964, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 1969. He later married Linda Phyllis Thies on April 17, 1971, his wife of nearly fifty years, and she survives at the residence.
He graduated from Boca Ciega High School, located in Gulfport, Fla.; attended St. Petersburg Junior College, AA, University of South Florida, BA, MBA, C.P.A., and The University of Pittsburgh, where he completed doctoral studies in Business Administration (ABD). He was a former Professor of Accounting at Slippery Rock University.
Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran, who proudly served his country. He had attended St. Camillus in New Castle and All Saints Lutheran Church in Slippery Rock. His hobbies included a life-long participation in and appreciation of all sports, particularly baseball and racquet ball. Bob's other interests revolved around daily following the stock market and keeping detailed stats on the best athletes in all sports. The joys of his life centered on practicing his deep and abiding faith, his loving family, and his passion for teaching and mentoring students who took his accounting courses.
Survivors include his wife, Linda at home; daughter, Sharon Ann (Charles E.) Waddingham of Brandon, Miss.; sons, David Anthony (Anne E.) Domanski of Minneapolis, Minn., and Brian James (Nicole J.) Domanski of Halethorpe, Md.; 5 grandchildren, Charles E. (Natalie) Waddingham IV, Sophia Rose Waddingham, Oliver Dustin Domanski, Linus Cooper Domanski, and Mei An Theodora Domanski; and multiple nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Betty; brother, Ted E. Jr.; brother, Micheal; and beloved grandparents, Isadore and Agnes Maziarczyk, and Jenina and Anthony Domanski.
Domanski — The family of Robert Richard Domanski, who died Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Please practice safety protocols using masks and social distancing at the funeral home.A funeral service will be held privately at 11 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Lutheran Church, 351 South Main St., in Slippery Rock with Rev. Lawrence K. Loree Jr., presiding.
