Three charged in Bentley Miller death continue court process
Three people charged in connection with the death of 4-year-old Bentley Thomas Miller in March continue to make their way through the legal system.
The man police say killed Bentley on March 21 — Keith Jordan Lambing, 20, of Butler — is currently awaiting a decision by county Judge Timothy McCune, which could see the first-degree homicide charges against him — and with it the death penalty — off the table.
Lambing was charged with first-degree homicide, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with serious bodily injury, rape of a child with serious bodily injury and other charges after an incident police say occurred at the Super 8 motel on Route 8 in Butler Township.
Lambing's mother, Kristen Lee Herold, 43, of Butler, also continues to be held in the county facility, on $200,000 bail, after police allege she provided false information about Lambing's whereabouts during the investigation into Bentley's death and also provided transportation to him during the time when he was wanted by police for questioning.
Bentley's mother, Mackenzie P. Peters, 21, was also charged in relation to the incident, with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
