Running For A Cause

Close to 50 runners from around the region braved temperatures in the high 20s Saturday morning to participate in Butler's Cupid Chase 5K at Lake Arthur Golf Club. The race, part of a national event with other 5K runs in Pittsburgh, Latrobe and nine states, raises money and awareness for residential and employment services for individuals with disabilities.Overall male winner weas Robert Danielson, 23, of Erie, while Rebecca Danielson, 24, of Erie was overall female winner. Age group male champions were Alex Oakes (13-15) of Grove City, Charlie Vakiener (30-34) of New Castle, Anthony Fleming (40-44) of Butler, Shawn Beranty (45-49) of Kittanning, Darren Casher (450-54) of Butler and Bob McVey (65-69) of Hermitage. Female age group winners were Rylee Werner (13-15) of Butler, Alyssa Klingler (16-19) of Knox, Nicole Oakes (30-34) of Corsica, Meagan Summerville (35-39) of Cranberry Township, Virginia Morlino (40-44) of Mars, Meghan McGinnis (45-49) of Coraopolis, Cindy Barnes (55-59) of Hermitage and Linda Myers (60-64) of Transfer.
