Woman faces 9 felonies

She allegedly fondled boys

CRANBERRY TWP — A 32-year-old Beaver County mother is accused of fondling and performing lap dances for two boys at a township hotel where she worked at the night desk.

The suspect also allegedly simulated sex with one of the boys, showed them nude photos of herself and provided both with beer, Cranberry Township police said.

“The allegations are disturbing,” said Cranberry police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino.

Police on Tuesday arrested Nancy A. Fields of Beaver Falls, who is charged with 17 criminal counts, nine of them felonies. She is in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

Investigators believe Fields sexually abused the boys, 15-year-old twin brothers, between September and January when they lived at the Candlewood Suites on Route 19 with their mother.

The alleged abuse happened when the boys’ mother was away for periods of time undergoing medical treatments, including surgeries, according to court documents.

Fields, who worked as a front desk clerk and night auditor at the hotel, knew the boys were alone, police said. She, too, was caring for her two daughters, ages 12 and 9, at the time.

The Butler Eagle is not identifying the victims or their mother due to the nature of the charges.

The boys’ mother went to police Jan. 22 after discovering the alleged wrongdoing, Mascellino said. Detective Matthew Irvin in May interviewed each child separately.

Mascellino in part attributed ”scheduling conflicts” for the delay in talking with the accusers.

Both boys recounted having nightly so-called “hangouts” in motel rooms with Fields, documents said.

While in the room and on the bed together, Fields would “cuddle” with them, groping them at times and often speak with them in a sexually explicit manner, the boys said.

Fields, they claimed, would usually be in various states of undress, a police affidavit said.

The boys told investigators that Fields bragged to them about being a one-time exotic dancer. She allegedly gave both of them lap dances.

One of the boys recalled for police having been awakened by a bare-chested Fields in bed in his own room.

On another occasion, that same boy said Fields entered his room without permission and while he was taking a shower. She possibly used a knife to defeat the lock on the bathroom door and walked in, he said.

Fields allegedly groped him. The boy said he hit Fields in the face and she ran out of the room.

The boys also described encounters with Fields in her car, where she would expose herself and force them to touch her breasts, police said.

One of the boys told police that the defendant allowed him to drive her car while the two were together. That same boy recalled one evening when she gave him and his brother beer.

Additionally, Fields is accused of showing the boys naked images of herself on her cell phone, police said. She allegedly sent some of those sexually explicit images to one of the boys via social media.

During his investigation, Irvin spoke to other hotel employees, who apparently suspected Fields of inappropriate behavior with the boys.

The general manager told police that at one point he “warned (Fields) to cease any contact with the boys or she would be terminated,” the affidavit said.

The hotel official said Fields, who was hired Aug. 29, 2013, was fired Jan. 20 “due to her continued fraternization with hotel guests,” documents said.

Fields is charged with burglary, trespass, criminal use of a communication facility, four counts of corruption of minor and two counts of child endangerment, all felonies.

She also is charged with four counts of indecent exposure and two counts each of indecent assault and furnishing alcohol to minors.

Mascellino declined to say if police have tried to speak with the defendant. He said he did not know if she has an attorney.

Child welfare services officials are “involved with” the case, Mascellino said. But he did not know who has custody of Fields’ children.
