Edward Parr Griffith
In loving memory of Edward Parr Griffith, dad, grandpa, who passed away 20 years ago on March 29.
Your memory and love is still carried with us today.
Even though you are gone, your life, it remains.
A great man admired for his family devotion
Who led with his actions - to teach hard work and dedication.
He taught us to see you only get one life,
To build it as it suits you, create a family, love your wife.
To live as we wish but to do it with honor,
To reflect what we learned from our loving grand-father.
And when we do that, you are still so much alive
You showed us not only exist but also to thrive.
A valuable lesson, we promise to never take for granted
Putting down roots with his family that he so perfectly planted.
Spending time at the markets, a collector of all things
I like to think of him here, still in my memory it clings.
People, places, and trinkets, they were all in his collection,
The drummer boy quarter was his favorite selection.
A coin to remember, a coin to celebrate
A coin that was minted and sold as set,
Originally created during America’s independence.
A coin, that to some believed that 25 cents would spend just the same,
But not to him, it was special - it wasn’t just plain.
A coin that was minted and sold as set,
Originally created during America’s independence.
Engraved with “E Pluribus Unum”
A Latin meaning “many uniting into one”.
To love and support those in our lives -
Just like you have always done.
Love,
Sarah and Hope
