20-plus win club in victory lane
BUFFALO TWP — Friday night was all about the 20-win club at Lernerville Speedway.
All four feature winners — A.J. Flick, Alex Ferree, Rex King Jr. and Corey McPherson — have 20 or more career victories at the Sarver oval.
Flick claimed his third successive Sprint feature win despite starting ninth in the 20-car field. Sarver resident Carl Bowser brought out a caution flag early in the race, but rallied from the tail of the field to finish second.
Saxonburg's Ferree led the Late Model feature for 24 of 26 laps, briefly surrendering the lead to Ken Schaltenbrand. Ferree claimed his 38th career Lernerville Late Model win, tying him with Ralph Spithaler for 17th on the track's all-time list.
King passed Brian Swartzlander on the 18th lap of the Modified feature and cruised to the win from there. The King father-and-son duo has combined for three straight Lernerville wins.
King's win was the 24th of his career at Lernerville. Points leader Garrett Krummert finished second.
McPherson started the Pro Stock feature and led for all 20 laps to secure his 47th career win at the Sarver oval. Joey Zambotti finished second with Tyler Dietz claiming third.
There were 74 cars in the pits. Fab 4 racing continues this Friday.
