South Butler School District in partial lockdown
JEFFERSON TWP — The South Butler School District remains in modified lockdown after Penn Township police arrested a student, who remains in police custody.
The police reported that the student made a serious threat to student safety, but added that no credible threat to the district or its students remains as of Monday morning.
Non-essential visitors will not be admitted to the district or its school buildings today as a result of the lockdown, according to a statement on the district's website.
“The district will be operating with tightened security for the foreseeable future,” the statement said.
More information will be provided to parents and residents as it becomes available, according to the statement.
