LOS ANGELES — Rod Dedeaux, who coached Southern California to a record 11 NCAA baseball championships, died Thursday. He was 91.

Dedeaux had a 1,332-571-11 record over 45 years with the Trojans before retiring in 1986. It was the most wins in Division I history until Cliff Gustafson of Texas surpassed him in 1994.

Nearly 60 USC players under Dedeaux went on to big league careers, including Mark McGwire, Randy Johnson, Tom Seaver, Dave Kingman, Fred Lynn and Roy Smalley.
