Graduates
David Allen of Madison, Wisc., formerly of Slippery Rock, graduated May 16 with a bachelor's in computer science and a minor in Japanese from the School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University.While at the university, he was a Provost Scholar.He received the Alumni Scholarship and the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Award for best senior project in Computer Science. He was a teaching assistant for three years in the computer science department. During his senior year, he completed a fellowship designing software for local businesses with Qube Lab, a software consultation startup.He accepted a position as a software developer at Epic in Madison.He attended Hokusei Gakuen University in Sapporo, Japan, from 2008 to 2009. A 2005 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he is the son of Richard and Geri Allen of Slippery Rock.———
<B>Amanda Black </B>of Butler graduated from Saint Francis University with a master's in physician assistant sciences.While at Saint Francis, she was a member of Pi Alpha national physician assistant honor society.She graduated in 2005 from Butler High School and in 2009 from Saint Francis University with a bachelor's in health science.She is the daughter of Gary and Brenda Black of Butler.———
<B>Carl Thompson</B> graduated with honors with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Youngs-town State University.He is a graduate of Moniteau High School.He and his wife Shawna reside in Chicora with their children Austin and Kaitlyn.———
<B>Hannah Taggart </B>of Mars graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's in biology with minors in chemistry and history.She will attend Shenandoah University in the fall for physician assistant studies.A 2006 graduate of Mars High School, she is the daughter of Scott and Kristine Taggart of Boardman, Ohio.
