GRADUATES
Maura Keasey of North Hills graduated with distinction and honors as a Schreyer Honors Scholar with a bachelor’s degree in elementary and kindergarten education from Penn State University.Keasey was the student marshal for the College of Education during the December 2011 commencement ceremony.She was also nominated for Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year in the fall of 2011 for her work at North Allegheny School District.Keasey was on the dean’s list with a 4.0 GPA and won College of Education scholarships each year.She also won the Evan Pugh Scholar Award, President’s Freshman Award and the President Sparks Award.Keasey was a member of the Tapestry Dance Company and is employed as a dance teacher for Starlight Dance Academy.She is also employed as a tutor, a substitute teacher for the North Pittsburgh, North Hills and North Allegheny school districts and a summer camp counselor for the parks and recreation program in the North Hills.Keasey is the daughter of Ashley and Rosemary Keasey of Butler, a 2008 graduate of Butler High School and a 2004 graduate of Butler Catholic School.
