King Jr. beats out Dad for win

BUFFALO TWP — Pole-sitter Rex King Jr. lost the lead to his father with four laps to go in the Modified feature Friday night at Lernerville Speedway.

King took the lead back from Rex King Sr. on the final lap of the race and scored the victory.

Brandon Matus took advantage of some misfortune to fellow Sprint driver Jack Sodeman Jr. to win that feature. Sodeman got tangled with Jeremy Hill with three laps remaining, his car sustaining enough damage to leave the race.

Matus wound up holding off Brett Matus to secure his first feature win since 2019.

Jared Miley passed race leader Gary Lyle on the fifth lap of the Late Model event and went on to victory. Chub Frank made a late charge, but Miley held on for his 33rd career win at Lernerville.

Daryl Charlier won his second consecutive Pro Stock feature at Lernerville, coming from the 10th starting spot. He beat out six-time track champion Corey McPherson for the win.
