Rock scores 32 runs, wins two
Slippery Rock University’s baseball team scored a combined 32 runs on 36 hits in defeating Upper Iowa 14-9 and Kentucky Wesleyan College 18-13 Friday in Clearwater, Fla.
Junior catcher Alex Bell tallied six hits and seven RBI in the doubleheader, including four runs batted in against Upper Iowa.
Redshirt freshman Christian Kerns picked up his first collegiate win after working six innings against Upper Iowa.
Senior outfielder Jake Weibley had all seven of his RBI in the second contest, which was won by southpaw Anton Constantino, who threw four innings.
The wins improved SRU to 8-4.
