Rock splits on diamond
The Slippery Rock University baseball team ran out of magic Tuesday night in Clearwater, Fla.
The Rock scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to clip Mansfield University 7-3, before losing 3-1 to West Chester University in the second game.
SRU (11-5) got three hits from first baseman Kyle Vozar and right fielder Graeme Zaparzynski in the win over the Mountaineers.
Kyle Schneider pitched seven innings, struck out five and allowed there runs for the Rock.
Will Kengor went 4 for 4 in a losing effort against West Chester, while Zaparzynski had two hits. Jon Anderson took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits and struck out four.
