Cranberry Twp. seniors club seeks new members

Bill Shaner

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Township Senior Citizens Club is looking for members to join its group.

The club is for people 55 and older who reside in Cranberry Township. The big draw, members say, is the fellowship the club provides, especially for those who may be new to the area or widowed.

Club President Bill Shaner said he and his wife joined last year to see what it was like, and stuck around for the great company and activities.

“It's about the socialization of the people and providing seniors some excitement of getting them out and enjoying themselves,” Shaner said.

The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month either at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center or at various locations throughout the community for a luncheon. Annual membership costs $10, and those interested can join at any time. The club has more than 60 members.

In addition to monthly meetings, the club also organizes bus tours and participates in other community events.

The club also has an Oct. 13 trip on the Gateway Clipper planned for members and guests.

Anyone interested in learning more about the group or joining can contact club President Bill Shaner at 724-776-1933.

A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
