BCABL begins play on Thursday

The Butler County Area Baseball League has released its 2020 schedule.

Games will begin Thursday with Saxonburg traveling to Center Township (6 p.m.), West Sunbury going to Freeport (6 p.m.) and Butler Township taking on East Butler at Speed O Field at 8 p.m.

Karns City will host Center Township Friday at 6 p.m.

Pine-Richland will begin its season Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. against Butler Township and West Sunbury will debut Tuesday at East Butler.

The 13-game regular season will run through July 16 with the playoffs for the nine-team league to be held after.

The BCABL, which consists of players between the ages of 15 and 19, usually plays an 18-game schedule.

But that was cut because of the late start due to the coronavirus pandemic.

East Butler will play at Speed O Field; Butler Township at Highfield Park; Cranberry Township at Graham Park; Freeport at Swartz Field; Karns City at Fairview Field; West Sunbury at West Sunbury Field; Pine-Richland at Pine Park; Saxonburg at Laura Doerr Park; and Center Township at Center Township School.

Most games are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
