Organizers of the Vintage Finds & Artisan Fair asked Slippery Rock Borough Council for permission to allow alcohol at its event Aug. 14 at the Slippery Rock Parks and Recreation area.

While some residents expressed concern over allowing alcohol in the park at Tuesday's council meeting, the council members voted that alcohol would be allowed with some contingencies.

The council approved a motion to allow alcohol, so long as the organizers secure an appropriate insurance policy and pay a fee to the borough that will be set by the borough's manager and solicitor.

Council meetings have been held in-person and over Zoom for several months, but council also voted Tuesday to terminate future Zoom meetings, making them strictly in-person from now on.
