Memorial service set for mother, daughter who died in house fire

Kalle Convery

ZELIENOPLE — A memorial service has been set for Kalle Convery and her nine-year-old daughter Aidan Kelley for Monday.

A celebration of life ceremony will take place at St. Peter's Reformed Church at 7 p.m. for both mother and daughter, who died Tuesday morning in a house fire at their home in New Castle.

An autopsy ruled both died of smoke and carbon monoxide inhalation. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Family friend Niki Boone said anyone who knows the family is welcome to attend the service.

Convery, 33, was a 2000 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and has family in Zelienople. Boone described Convery and her family as “fun-spirited,” “compassionate” and “caring.”

Convery's husband, Andrew Kelley, 35, and six-year-old son, Quentin Kelley, escaped the fire and were treated for their injuries.

Two crowdfunding sources have been set up to help the family.

One fund on youcaring.com named “Memorial fund for Kalle and Aidan” has raised $11,105 from 131 donors.

Another fund on gofundme.com named “Support Andrew and Quentin Kelley” has raised $545.

“She was a wonderful mother,” said next door neighbor Barb Brizendine.

The Boylan Funeral Home in Zelienople is handling the funeral arrangements.
