A fire that tore through half a duplex in Karns City Monday afternoon could have been caused by electrical problems, according to sources at the scene.

No one was injured, but two dogs that lived at 181 Main St. in Karns City died in the blaze.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious, according to firefighters. An electrician had been called to service the house before the fire broke out.

A state police fire marshal is investigating the fire.
