Students of Distinction
Butler High School students who achieved a 4.3 or higher are recognized as honor students with distinction.
For the Class of 2021, they are:
Brody Allison is the son of Steve Allison and Chris Allison of Renfrew. He was a member of the lacrosse team, unified bocce team and National Honor Society. He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in engineering.
Justin Bajema is the son of Jacob and Sonya Bajema of Butler. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He plans to attend Butler County Community College and major in business administration.
Juliana Bish is the daughter of Todd and Shayne Garcia-Bish of Butler. She was a member of the marching band, Tornado Big Band Percussion Ensemble, orchestra, All-State Band and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Shenandoah University as a music therapy major.
Allison Buck is the daughter of Rebecca Buck and Craig Buck of Butler. She was a member of Student Council, National Honor Society and FITE Club. She plans to attend Robert Morris University and major in actuarial science.
Madelyn Chapla is the daughter of Jen Chapla and Terry Chapla of Butler. She was a member of the marching band and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Purdue University as an aerospace engineering major.
Thomas Cornelius is the son of Michael and Melinda Cornelius of Butler. He was a member of the marching band and Aquaettes. He plans to attend Butler County Community College and major in computer science.
Payton Cornetti is the daughter of Bobbi Jo and Paul Cornetti of Butler. She was a member of the Sequinette Dance Team, Best Buddies and National Honor Society. She plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh as a finance major.
Samuel Deemer is the son of Robert and Kelly Deemer of Connoquenessing. He was a member of the swim team. He plans to major in engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Emmitt Everton is the son of Paula and Jeffery Everton of Butler. He was a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, marching band and Tornado Big Band. He plans to attend Grove City College and major in biochemistry.Micah Fabrizzi is the son of Michael and Sharon Fabrizzi of Butler. He was a member of the soccer team, National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America. He plans to attend Penn State University main campus as a cybersecurity analytics and operations major.Jacob Glath is the son of John and Joy Glath of Butler. He was organizer of Quest Club and vice president of the National Honor Society. His future plans are undecided.Mason Grenci is the son of Anthony and Brenda Grenci of Butler. He participated in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, golf team, jazz band, Environmental Club, National Honor Society, and marching and symphonic bands. He plans to pursue an aerospace engineering degree at Purdue University.Abbie Griffith is the daughter of David and Jennifer Griffith of Butler. She was a member of the swim team, cross country team and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Miami University of Ohio as a biochemistry and pre-medicine major.Cooper Hall is the son of Jill and Nathan Hall of Renfrew. He was a member of FITE Club. He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in civil engineering.Nadia Hindman is the daughter of Wayne and Lucia Hindman of Butler. She was on the cheer squad, Student Council and National Honor Society. She plans to attend the University of Cincinnati and major in biomedical sciences.Charlotte Hubbard is the daughter of Laura Hubbard of Butler. She plans to major in engineering at Penn State Mont Alto.Andrea Jones is the daughter of Samuel Jones and Michelle Jones of Butler. She was a member of the track and field team, Environmental Club and National Honor Society. She plans to major in chemical engineering at Purdue University.Katelyn Knights is the daughter of Tom Knights and Jody and Eric Tack of Butler. She was a member of Pennsylvania Bots IQ, Junior Classical League and the swim team. She plans to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology as an applied mathematics major.Brayden Koegler is the son of Nichol and Kevin Koegler of Butler. He was a member of the cross country, basketball and volley teams and National Honor Society. He plans to attend West Virginia University as a forensic chemistry major.Logan Koegler is the son of Nichol and Kevin Koegler of Butler. He was a member of National Honor Society and the football and basketball teams. He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh as a nursing major.David Leslie is the son of Susan and Brad Leslie of Butler. He was a member of the basketball and baseball teams and National Honor Society. He plans to attend Grove City College and major in engineering.Aleksandra Mortimer is the daughter of Lori Mortimer of Butler and James Mortimer of Evans City. She was a member of the Sequinette Dance Team. She plans to attend Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University as an animal science/pre-veterinarian major.Abigail Natili is the daughter of Joyce Natili and Robert Natili II of Butler. She was a member of Best Buddies, FITE Club and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Butler County Community College and major in secondary education.Marisa Ollio is the daughter of Michael and Lynn Ollio of Butler. She is a member of National Honor Society, Environmental Club and Quest. She plans to attend North Carolina State University and major in foreign language Spanish education.Chloe Paulisick is the daughter of Gerri and Joe Paulisick of Butler. She was a member of Mock Trial, the girls golf team and National Honor Society, and was senior class vice president. She plans to attend Indiana University-Bloomington and major in marketing.Taylor Reinsel is the daughter of Tammy and Eric Reinsel of Butler. She was a member of the marching band, Mock Trial and school musicals. She plans to attend Nova Southeastern University and enter the dual admissions biology-osteopathic medicine program.Emma Rihn is the daughter of Kimberly Rihn and Lance Rihn of Butler. She was a member of the cheerleading squad, and Future Business Leaders of America. She plans to attend Butler County Community College majoring in business.Annabel Schaffner is the daughter of John Schaffner and Jennifer Spohn Schaffner of Butler. She was a member of the marching band, theater, turning Point, USA Mixed Ensemble, 3-2-1 Trivia competition and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Robert Morris University as a business major.Josiah Sespico is the son of Matthew Sespico and Stacie Sespico of Butler. He was a member of the indoor and outdoor cross country and track teams, the Environmental Club, FITE Club, Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, Pennsylvania Math League, National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society. He plans to major in environmental engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.Kendra Slupe is the daughter of Michael Slupe and Kristine Slupe of Butler. She was a member of the Sequinette Dance Team. She plans to attend Montana State University as a sociology and criminology major.Emma Teff is the daughter of Cody and Nina Teff of Renfrew. She was a member of Mock Trail, Student Council, Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science and Hometown High Q Team. She plans to attend Purdue University as a engineering major.
